The Government of Alberta has officially announced a 30-year master plan focused on developing and modernizing passenger rail services across the province. This long-term strategy follows almost a year’s delay prior to its unveiling, marking a renewed commitment to expanding the province’s rail infrastructure over the next several decades.

As the first major initiative under this plan, Alberta is prioritizing train services that will provide a direct connection between downtown locations and airports. To support progressing this next phase, the province has allocated $15 million in funding aimed at advancing the rollout of these passenger rail projects.
