WTE Miami 2026 held its fourth edition opening at the Miami Beach Convention Center on October 27, 2026, with Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Miami International Airport Director and CEO Ralph Cutié, and PortMiami Director and CEO Jonathan Daniels participating in the ceremony.

Nearly 2,000 qualified and vetted unique attendees participated on the first day, engaging with more than 400 exhibitors. This initial day’s attendance exceeded the total number of visitors from the entire previous year’s event, demonstrating strong demand for this dedicated travel trade platform.

Simon Press Highlights WTE Miami’s Platform Value

Simon Press, Managing Director of WTE Miami, emphasized

the event’s role as a neutral platform and its enhanced content and value this year. He noted, “WTE has proven the need for an event in this format, delivering a neutral platform. The objective was to increase the content and value for the industry this year, and WTE has achieved this through the number of exhibitors and conference sessions.”

Press added that travel advisors took advantage of the event to discover new travel experiences and learn about current trends through conference sessions.

Conference Focus on Traveler Preferences and Industry Trends

The conference sessions covered a range of topics including changing preferences of American travelers, how destination development influences

travel choices, and advancements like artificial intelligence in travel planning. A notable presentation by Rose Mary Cortes of MMGY Global shared findings from the Portrait of American Travelers study, drawing a full audience.

Cortes pointed out how travelers increasingly use AI for inspiration and trip planning while seeking to maximize vacation value through multi-destination trips and diverse activities. She said, “What’s really interesting is how travelers are discovering destinations in new ways, with AI becoming part of how they find inspiration and plan their trips.”

Emerging Travel Trends and Advisor Development

Sessions also explored opportunities in adventure travel, cruising, culinary and wellness tourism, as well as

emerging destinations for 2027. The event emphasized helping travel advisors stay informed about trends and uncover new experiences for clients.

Cyndi Williams, Founder and CEO of Wanderlust Campus®, stressed the importance of developing profitable travel advisors beyond product knowledge. She stated, “The travel industry’s greatest opportunity isn’t just attracting more travel advisors. It’s developing more profitable ones. Business systems, entrepreneurial skills, and professional certification are what moves the needle.”

Event Continues with Networking Opportunities

The first day concluded with an evening cocktail reception, offering additional networking opportunities for industry professionals. WTE Miami will continue on October 28, 2026, with a second day of exhibitions, conference

sessions, and business development activities.
