The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced in late October 2026 the certification of Air New Zealand and Hong Kong International Airport as leaders in digital identity deployment.

Both entities received certification for implementing advanced biometric and digital identity systems designed to improve travel processing and enhance security. Passengers flying with Air New Zealand or passing through Hong Kong International Airport may encounter expanded digital identity verification measures that streamline travel experiences.
