Sunday PropTech, the hospitality investment division of Indian group Prism, announced on October 26, 2026, its acquisition of Fletcher Hotels, the largest hotel chain in the Netherlands. The deal transfers ownership from the independent investment firm Egeria and Fletcher’s current management to Sunday PropTech. Rothschild & Co served as adviser to Fletcher Hotels during the acquisition. Financial terms were undisclosed.

Fletcher Hotels Portfolio and Operations

Fletcher Hotels manages a total of 170 properties, including 130 owned and operated hotels and 40 partner locations spread across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. The chain employs approximately 5,800 people, operating affordable leisure accommodations with a mix of three-

and four-star hotels located in coastal, urban, and rural settings.

Growth and Ownership History of Fletcher Hotels

Founded in 1997, Fletcher Hotels expanded from 73 hotels in 2016 to 103 by 2021, completing around 60 acquisitions as part of a buy-and-build strategy. In 2016, a management buyout backed by NIBC and Xead Group enabled the rapid expansion. By 2021, Egeria had acquired a majority stake and invested significantly in the organisation, real estate portfolio, and technology platform, aiming to enhance the guest experience, according to Mark Wetzels, senior partner at Egeria.

Sunday PropTech’s Strategic European Expansion

Sunday PropTech’s acquisition of Fletcher Hotels is its second transaction in the Netherlands in two months,

following a sizable stake acquisition in Amsterdam-based boutique hotel firm Sircle Collection. Prism, parent company of Sunday PropTech and budget hotel brand Oyo, rebranded from Oravel Stays in September 2025. Its portfolio also includes Motel 6, Studio 6, Sunday Hotels, and vacation rental brand Belvilla. Earlier in 2026, Sunday PropTech opened three hotels in Germany and its first hotel in Belgium as part of accelerating European expansion ahead of a planned IPO.

Dutch Hotel Investment Market Context and Official Statements

Hotel investment volumes in the Netherlands declined significantly in 2026 amid pricing uncertainty and international capital shifting to other European markets with better returns and tax conditions. Third

quarter hotel investment volume was €224 million, down from €625 million year-over-year. Only six hotel deals closed during the first half of 2026, worth approximately €56 million, representing an 86% year-over-year decline.

Mark Wetzels described the acquisition as “an important step in Sunday PropTech’s expansion in Europe” and said Sunday PropTech is “the ideal partner to support Fletcher in its next phase of growth.” A Sunday PropTech spokesperson stated, “Fletcher has built a strong business and a well-recognized brand in the Netherlands. We look forward to working with its management team to support the next phase of growth.”
