Sunday PropTech, the hospitality investment arm of Indian group Prism, completed the acquisition of Fletcher Hotels, the largest hotel chain in the Netherlands, from investment firm Egeria and Fletcher’s management team, the transaction reported on October 26, 2026. Fletcher operates a total of 170 hotels across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Fletcher Hotels’ Portfolio and Strategy

Fletcher Hotels manages 130 owned and operated properties alongside 40 partner hotels, offering affordable leisure accommodations in three- and four-star venues located in coastal, urban and rural areas. Its portfolio covers three countries: the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, reflecting an expansion beyond its home market.

Ownership History and Growth

The company has pursued

an aggressive buy-and-build approach over the last decade, completing approximately 60 acquisitions. Fletcher’s rapid expansion followed a 2016 management buyout supported by NIBC and Xead Group, when it operated 73 hotels. By 2021, Fletcher grew to 103 hotels, coinciding with Egeria acquiring a majority stake. Under Egeria’s leadership, Fletcher invested in its organisation, real estate portfolio and technology platform.

Official Statements and Investments

Mark Wetzels, senior partner at Egeria, stated, “During this period, we have invested significantly in the organisation, real estate portfolio and technology platform, all with the aim of continuously enhancing the guest experience.” Wetzels also said he believed Sunday PropTech and

its shareholders were well positioned to support the next growth phase for Fletcher. A spokesperson for Sunday PropTech added, “Fletcher has built a strong business and a well-recognized brand in the Netherlands. We look forward to working with its management team to support the next phase of growth.”

Prism’s European Expansion and Market Context

Sunday PropTech’s acquisition follows its purchase of a significant stake in Amsterdam’s Sircle Collection two months prior, signalling an intensification of its European expansion efforts. Prism, the parent company of Sunday PropTech and hotel brands including Oyo, Motel 6, Studio 6, Sunday Hotels and Belvilla, has opened three hotels in Germany and

its first in Belgium in 2026. This acquisition supports Prism’s growth strategy ahead of a planned IPO, valued at 33.5 billion rupees ($355 million) as of October 2026.

Investment volume in Dutch hotels declined sharply in 2026 due to pricing uncertainties and more favourable returns in other European markets. Hotel investments dropped from €625 million in Q3 2025 to €224 million in Q3 2026. Only six hotel deals worth roughly €56 million occurred in the Netherlands during the first half of 2026, down about 86% year-over-year.

Advisory and Transaction Details

Rothschild & Co. advised Fletcher Hotels on the transaction. Financial terms of the deal

were not disclosed.
