Norwegian Cruise Line opened reservations on October 20, 2026, for Norwegian Bella, its sixth and final Prima-class ship. Measuring 1,129 feet in length and displacing 170,000 gross tons, Norwegian Bella will accommodate up to 3,921 guests at double occupancy, making it the largest vessel ever ordered by Norwegian Cruise Line. The ship’s inaugural season starts in May 2028 with seven-night round-trip Mediterranean sailings from its home port at the Port of Barcelona, Spain.
Itineraries Include Key Mediterranean Destinations
Norwegian Bella will offer weeklong cruises stopping at ports along Europe’s Mediterranean coast, including Civitavecchia, the gateway to Rome; Livorno, serving Florence and Pisa; Salerno, near the
Amalfi Coast; Marseille in France; and Palma de Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. These itineraries will depart and return exclusively to the Port of Barcelona.
Expanded Outdoor Spaces and Signature Design
The ship’s pool deck will be at least 15% larger than those of the previous Prima-class vessels Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna. Norwegian Bella also features Ocean Heights, a multi-level open-air complex spanning decks 18 through 21 for daytime and nighttime activities, and Ocean Boulevard, a full-length wrap-around promenade on deck 8 with outdoor access and seating.
Its interiors were designed collaboratively by AD Associates, Italian designer Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design, and Studio
DADO. Norwegian Bella continues Norwegian Cruise Line’s tradition of commissioning unique exterior hull art, created by Australian contemporary artist George Rose, whose botanical and organic visuals adorn the ship’s hull.
Luxury Accommodations in The Haven by Norwegian
Norwegian Bella includes 159 suites within The Haven by Norwegian, the line’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship luxury enclave. Suites feature private elevators, a dedicated sundeck with an infinity pool and two hot tubs, an outdoor sauna and cold room, plus separate family-friendly and adults-only areas. Guests staying in The Haven have access to a private restaurant and bar, 24-hour butler and concierge services, and priority embarkation, disembarkation, and reservations.
Travel Considerations for U.S. Guests and Port Capacity Management
American travelers booking
Norwegian Bella voyages should plan separately for transatlantic round-trip airfare to Barcelona, as no bundled air packages have been announced. Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN) offers nonstop flights from major U.S. hubs on multiple carriers. The Port of Barcelona, Europe’s busiest cruise home port, handled nearly 3.7 million cruise passengers in 2024. In 2025, the port implemented an overtourism management plan that included the elimination of two cruise terminals, which may influence operational logistics for Norwegian Bella’s 2028 sailings.
Norwegian Bella completes Norwegian Cruise Line’s six-ship Prima-class expansion that began with Norwegian Prima in 2022. The series includes Norwegian Viva
(2023), Norwegian Aqua, Norwegian Luna, and Norwegian Aura, with Bella and Aura tying as the largest ships in the fleet. Both Bella and Aura were constructed by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.
Norwegian Cruise Line president Marc Kazlauskas described Norwegian Bella as “the culmination of our award-winning Prima Class” and a milestone for the fleet. He said the vessel reflects guest feedback and innovation within this class, emphasizing enhanced outdoor spaces, family-friendly features and venues for relaxation.
Artist George Rose said designing the hull art “was an opportunity to capture the sense of wonder that travel inspires” through vibrant colors and organic
forms. She expressed anticipation for the artwork to become part of guests’ travel memories aboard Norwegian Bella.
