EXPO 2027 Belgrade, scheduled from 15 May to 15 August 2027, is the first Specialised Expo to be hosted in the Western Balkans. Its theme is “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All,” and it is expected to draw more than 140 international participants to Belgrade, Serbia.
According to Serbia’s Statistical Office, bilateral goods trade between Serbia and Slovenia reached approximately USD 2.04 billion in 2025. More than 1,200 Slovenian companies operate within Serbia, providing employment for around 25,000 individuals.
Long-Term Business and Tourism Collaboration
Danilo Jerinić stated that the measuring stick for EXPO 2027’s success will
extend beyond the three months of the event itself. He emphasized that the expo’s impact should be determined by sustained business partnerships, investments generating employment, returning visitors, and projects progressing into long-term initiatives.
The B2B discussions during the event focused on developing cross-border travel itineraries and joint travel packages aimed at enticing visitors to explore destinations beyond Belgrade. The event served as a platform to connect Slovenian companies and travel agents with their Serbian counterparts to capitalize on emerging opportunities in trade and tourism.
