The Rimrock Banff Hotel in Banff, Alberta, reopened on October 5, 2026, after completing a $115 million renovation. The property became the first in North America to join Accor’s Emblems Collection, a brand reserved exclusively for luxury five-star hotels.

Design and Accommodation Enhancements

The renovation and redesign of the hotel were led by California-based Studio Collective, focusing on blending the resort with the surrounding Canadian Rockies landscape. The hotel features 320 renovated guest rooms, including 57 suites designed to highlight mountain views through floor-to-ceiling windows and natural materials. The largest accommodation, the infinity two-bedroom suite, includes a wraparound terrace exceeding 1,260 square feet, a

barrel sauna, and a fire table.

Expanded Wellness Facilities

A new 9,600-square-foot hydrothermal bathhouse was introduced, offering Banff’s first luxury hydrothermal wellness experience. It includes indoor and outdoor features such as a vitality pool, hot pool, mountain-facing infinity pool, saunas, an aromatic steam room, cold plunges, a suspended meditation room, and a sensory room. Complementing this is a 3,800-square-foot Movement Center featuring fitness equipment, climbing and bouldering walls, guided classes, and recovery services.

Dining Options and Local Sourcing

The resort now hosts four distinct dining venues: Parker’s Table, Rimrock Social, The Listening Room, and Rimrock Market. Parker’s Table serves seasonal dishes using ingredients from local Canadian farmers, fishers,

and foragers. Alberta-produced honey is integrated into several menu items, including a signature arrival drink and wellness tonics.

Outdoor Adventures and Activity Centre

The Rimrock Banff Hotel features an Expeditions Centre that schedules personalized outdoor activities for guests. More than 50 seasonal experiences are available, such as guided hikes, forest bathing, alpine yoga, canyon ice walks, and Indigenous cultural tours. Excursions to the Athabasca Glacier and northern lights wake-up calls during favorable conditions are also offered.

Management Statement

David Garcelon, general manager of Rimrock Banff Hotel, said: “The resort, across the decades of its history, has always been defined by its remarkable setting. This transformation was guided

by a simple philosophy: create a resort that feels inseparable from the landscape itself.”
