Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced its 2028 cruise schedule with 39 sailings, including the launch of a new 19-night trip to Canada. The “Scenic Highlights of Canada” voyage departs Liverpool on 14 June 2028 and marks Fred. Olsen’s first journey to Canada since 2024.

Canada Itinerary and Departure Details

The 19-night Canada cruise aboard Fred. Olsen’s Borealis sets off from Liverpool on 14 June 2028. The itinerary moves through Belfast, St. John’s in Newfoundland, the Gaspé Peninsula, Baie Comeau, Quebec City, Humber Arm & Bay of Islands (cruising), Corner Brook, L’Anse aux Meadows, Cobh in Ireland, and returns to Liverpool. This route offers chances

to observe whales, marine wildlife, and icebergs while exploring Newfoundland’s coastline, the Gaspé Peninsula, and the UNESCO-listed Old Québec streets. The voyage is scheduled during a quieter season to maximize wildlife watching opportunities.

Key Cruises Highlighted in the 2028 Programme

Beyond Canada, Fred. Olsen highlights other 2028 cruises including a 13-night voyage to the Canary Islands, Madeira, and a total solar eclipse starting in Málaga on 24 January 2028 aboard the Balmoral. The 36-night Caribbean cruise departing Portsmouth on 13 February 2028 also operated by Balmoral will visit Bermuda, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico, including an overnight in San Juan and stops to see the Bahamas’ swimming

pigs at Great Exuma. Borealis will sail a 10-night Norwegian Fjords cruise from Liverpool on 12 April 2028, featuring fjords accessible only to smaller ships and natural highlights like the Briksdal Glacier and the Fureberg Waterfall. Freedom Fare prices for these cruises start at £2,599 for Canada, £1,299 for Canary Islands, £3,499 for the Caribbean, and £1,299 for Norwegian Fjords.

Official Statement and Programme Design

Martin Lister, Head of Product Innovation at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, described the 2028 programme as an opportunity for guests to experience memorable moments through scenic cruising, cultural immersion, and natural spectacles. The smaller ships enable access to unique cruising

routes and closer explorations of destinations, designed to help travelers discover more of the world through deeper cultural and natural engagement.

Booking Information and Traveler Benefits

Bookings for the Canada cruise opened 1 October 2026, while most other 2028 sailings become available from 7 October 2026. Guests who book by 4 November 2026 can take advantage of the Freedom Fare Price Promise, which guarantees no lower fare within the first four weeks of sales opening.
