Tourism EXPO Japan 2026 will take place at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, Japan, from September 24 to 27, 2026. It is organized by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association, Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), under the theme ‘The Changing Nature of Travel’.

September 24 and 25 are reserved for trade and press professionals, while September 26 and 27 are open to the general public, enabling broader consumer engagement.

The event gathers stakeholders from outbound, inbound, and domestic tourism. It showcases a wide range of sectors including destinations, travel agencies, online travel agencies

(OTAs), ICT companies, hotels, accommodations, aviation, and transportation entities.

Business networking features walk-in meetings at exhibitor booths and a reserved meeting program with pre-scheduled appointments. The 2025 edition attracted 1,350 companies and organizations from 82 countries and regions, highlighting the international scale.

Tourism EXPO Japan 2026 will be held alongside VISIT JAPAN Travel & MICE Mart 2026 and Travel Solutions Exhibition 2026, broadening the scope of business and tourism activities at Tokyo Big Sight.

India will officially participate with Incredible India at Booth G-28, including co-exhibitors Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation, J&K Tourism Department, Meghalaya Tourism, and Shikhar Travels.

Rajasthan Tourism will exhibit separately at Booth G-38.

The Ministry of Tourism promotes India’s participation to highlight its destinations and develop overseas tourism connections. The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has invited its members to take part in the India Pavilion.

The event’s theme reflects shifts in technology, lifestyles, and traveler preferences shaping tourism’s future. It serves as a platform to explore digital technology, sustainable travel, and changing travel styles impacting the industry.

The 9th TEJ Ministerial Roundtable, scheduled for September 24, will focus on ‘Reimagining the Future of Tourism – Investment Strategies for Regenerative Tourism’, involving tourism ministers

and international representatives. The 10th Japan Tourism Awards in 2026 will recognize contributions to tourism development, local communities, sustainability, innovation, and productivity, introducing a new Prime Minister’s Award.

Tourism EXPO Japan 2026 positions itself as a global platform for business exchange and consumer engagement, reflecting how evolving travel trends influence the tourism industry. The September 26 and 27 public days allow visitors to experience cultures, destinations, food, and tourism offerings from Japan and around the world.
