Tourism EXPO Japan 2026 will be held from September 24 to 27 at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo. Organised by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association, the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the event will carry the theme ‘The Changing Nature of Travel’.
September 24 and 25 are designated as trade and press days while September 26 and 27 are open to the public. The expo will address outbound, inbound, and domestic tourism markets, facilitating business opportunities and regional tourism promotion.
India will participate with the Incredible India campaign at Booth G-28.
Co-exhibitors include the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department, Meghalaya Tourism, and Shikhar Travels. Rajasthan Tourism will have a separate presence at Booth G-38. The Ministry of Tourism, India, uses the event to showcase destinations and connect with international tourism stakeholders. The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has invited its members to join the India Pavilion.
Business networking at the event involves both walk-in meetings and a pre-arranged reserved business-meeting program matching buyers and sellers. The 2025 edition involved 1,350 companies and organisations from 82 countries and regions, illustrating the scale of participation.
Key
programmes include the 9th TEJ Ministerial Roundtable on September 24, focusing on ‘Reimagining the Future of Tourism – Investment Strategies for Regenerative Tourism’. This session will bring together tourism ministers and representatives from international organisations. The 10th Japan Tourism Awards will also be presented, introducing a new Prime Minister’s Award and honouring achievements in tourism development, community support, sustainability, innovation, and productivity.
The event highlights the impact of technological advances, shifting lifestyles, and evolving traveler preferences on the tourism sector. It runs alongside VISIT JAPAN Travel & MICE Mart 2026 and Travel Solutions Exhibition 2026, further integrating the tourism business
ecosystem.
