TUI Airlines has announced a significant expansion of its summer 2027 schedule with 25 new routes and an increase of about 640,000 seats across its European network. The airline’s total capacity will rise by 4.6% compared to summer 2026, reaching approximately 17 million seats spread over 84,000 flights.
London Gatwick to Gain Eight New Routes
London Gatwick Airport will be the largest beneficiary of this expansion, with eight new destinations added to TUI’s summer 2027 network. The new routes include Athens and Mytilene in Greece; Palermo in Sicily; Santiago de Compostela, Seville, and Valencia in Spain; Tangier in Morocco; and Djerba in Tunisia. Most of these services
are scheduled to operate two to three times per week, increasing Gatwick’s total network to 59 destinations.
Changes at Other Airports in Europe
TUI will reduce operations at London Luton and Dublin airports, affecting departures from these hubs. Passengers in these regions may need to travel via London Gatwick or Manchester or consider alternative carriers. In Germany, Düsseldorf will introduce a twice-weekly Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Curacao along with new routes to Malaga, Naples, Venice, and Ljubljana. Hanover airport will add flights to Malaga and Olbia. Amsterdam Airport will launch a twice-weekly Boeing 787 service to Kilimanjaro via Zanzibar and is scheduled to debut TUI’s
new Boeing 737-10 fleet in the second quarter of 2027, pending certification. In Belgium, frequencies to Majorca, the Canary Islands, and Marrakech will increase to compensate for route reductions at Liege and Antwerp airports.
Operational Consolidation and Fleet Updates
This expanded summer 2027 program follows TUI’s consolidation of five national airlines into a single commercial entity, streamlining scheduling and operations. The airline’s 130-aircraft fleet will be deployed with a shift toward more seat-only sales, targeting independent travelers and third-party tour operators, alongside its traditional package holiday offerings.
