More than 40 large hotel properties are planned in and around Jaipur, with most expected to be operational within about five years and at least five slated to open within a year. Each project involves investments exceeding Rs 300 crore.
Jaipur-Delhi Highway Corridor Hosts Major Hotel Developments
Approximately 20 of these hotel projects are planned along the Jaipur-Delhi highway, a key hospitality corridor because of its connectivity and availability of large land parcels. The pipeline includes global hotel brands such as Grand Hyatt, Ozone Villas, Radisson Blu, JW Marriott, Sofitel Legend, and Waldorf Astoria.
Destination Wedding Market Drives Hotel Design and Expansion
The developments target Rajasthan’s growing destination wedding business, with hotels incorporating banquet halls,
lawns, and event infrastructure to support large weddings. Hotels expect weddings to generate significantly higher revenues from room bookings and food and beverage services than regular business travel.
Jaipur is consolidating its position as Rajasthan’s leading destination wedding hub, according to the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR).
Impact on Market Supply and Employment
The new hotels will increase branded room inventory in Jaipur and intensify competition among operators. These projects are expected to create thousands of employment opportunities.
Official Statements and Land Auctions
Surendra Singh Shahpura, president of FHTR, said, “Around 40 big hotels are coming up in and around Jaipur and they are at various stages of
development. Most of these properties will be operational in about five years, while at least five are expected to start operations within a year.” Ranvijay Singh, a leading FHTR member, noted, “There is hardly any other industry investing such large amounts of capital in individual projects. These hotels will be key to creating thousands of employment opportunities.” He added, “Our industry bodies in Pushkar, Udaipur and Jodhpur tell us of similar stories of new project developments happening in those destinations.”
RIICO is currently auctioning seven large plots of land for future hotel projects.
