Fiji Airways will launch direct flights between Nadi, Fiji and Western Sydney International Airport, Australia on March 19, 2027. The airline will operate three flights a week on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays, expanding air travel options between Fiji and Western Sydney.
Additional Capacity with Boeing 737 MAX 8 Aircraft
The Western Sydney route will be operated using Fiji Airways’ Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, adding more than 53,000 seats annually between Nadi and Western Sydney International Airport. Fiji Airways is the first international carrier to announce services from Western Sydney Airport.
Flight Timings and Numbers
The flight from Nadi to Western Sydney (FJ991) departs at 7:10 pm and arrives at 10:55 pm.
The return flight (FJ990) departs Western Sydney at 11:55 pm, arriving in Nadi at 4:55 am the next day, providing overnight connections.
Enhanced Connectivity and Existing Services
Fiji Airways currently operates twice-daily flights between Nadi and Kingsford Smith Airport in Greater Sydney. Following the Western Sydney launch, Fiji Airways will offer up to three flights daily between Fiji and the Greater Sydney region. Connections are available via Nadi to other Fiji destinations and to Tonga and Samoa.

Visitor Growth and Regional Importance
Fiji recorded more than one million visitor arrivals over a 12-month period for the first time, with July 2026 marking the highest-ever monthly arrivals. Western Sydney is one of the fastest-growing regions in New South Wales and hosts one of the largest Fijian
communities outside Fiji. The new service supports Fiji Airways’ aim to strengthen connectivity and tourism links with Australia, Fiji’s largest source market.
Introductory Fares and Travel Period
Introductory return fares start at $899 for travel between Fiji and Western Sydney. The fare sale runs from September 9 to 23, 2026, for travel from March 19 to August 5, 2027, subject to availability.
