United Airlines announced on September 6, 2026, that it will add 10 new routes in 2027, marking the largest expansion in the airline’s history. These new routes will broaden their network across North America and internationally.
New International Destinations and Network Growth
The new routes include destinations in Japan, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and France, where United will serve more places than any other U.S. carrier. Over the last decade, United Airlines has added flights to nearly 60 new international cities, significantly expanding its global reach.
Purpose and Scale of Expansion
Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances at United Airlines, stated, “We aim to have a destination
on our route map for every traveler, at every stage of their lives. Whether it’s a business trip, a dream honeymoon, a bucket-list adventure, or a trip home to see family, we’re making the world feel smaller and connecting cultures at a scale no other airline in the world can match.” He also highlighted the decade-long growth: “We’ve added flights to nearly 60 new international cities in the last decade, building a global network with the breadth and reach to set travel trends and inspire even the most discerning travelers to discover somewhere new.”
Immediate Traveler Benefits and Ticket Sales
Tickets for the 10 new routes
are available for sale immediately, providing more flight options and increased availability for travelers. The routes support multiple travel purposes including leisure, business, adventures, honeymoons, and family visits.
United Airlines currently connects Orlando to Chicago, Houston, Denver, and Washington, establishing it as a popular carrier for travelers to Disney World and beyond.
