Royal Caribbean has canceled multiple cruises scheduled to depart from Los Angeles in August 2026. The affected sailings, which included calls at Mexican ports, were on the Navigator of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas. These cancellations coincide with the cruise line’s broader fleet redeployment plans targeting new destinations.
Navigator of the Seas Redeployment to Asia
The Navigator of the Seas will be repositioned to operate year-round in Asia starting in October 2026 and continuing through October 2027. Its new itineraries include two- to five-night cruises around Southeast Asia, with port stops in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand. The ship will also undertake a 12-night voyage from
Tokyo to Singapore. Bookings for these Asian sailings opened recently, marking a significant shift from its previous deployment from Los Angeles.
Ovation of the Seas Shift to Australia
The Ovation of the Seas is set to leave the U.S. market and redeploy to Brisbane, Australia, beginning November 2027. The ship will offer cruises ranging from three to eight nights, including four-night trips to Airlie Beach located in Queensland’s Whitsunday region. This redeployment reflects Royal Caribbean’s expansion into the Australia-Pacific market for the 2027-28 season.
Freedom of the Seas Cancellation and Redeployment
Earlier in March 2026, Royal Caribbean canceled over 20 cruises aboard the Freedom of the Seas planned for the summer 2027 season. Those
sailings were canceled as the ship was redeployed to Southampton, England, for the 2027 season. This move was part of the same strategic fleet adjustments affecting the Navigator and Ovation of the Seas.

Passengers and travel partners affected by the canceled cruises aboard Navigator of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas have been contacted directly.
