On August 13, 2026, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and RJR Investments & Holdings Inc. confirmed that Atlantic Suites Hotel has joined the Hyatt portfolio as its first affiliated hotel in Guyana. This marks Hyatt’s official entry into the Guyanese hospitality market.
Atlantic Suites Hotel Features and Amenities
Atlantic Suites Hotel currently offers 80 guestrooms and suites featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with views of either the Atlantic Ocean or the Georgetown skyline. Designed for business and extended-stay travelers, it includes a 24-hour fitness center.
Guests at Atlantic Suites Hotel can also use amenities at the adjacent Pegasus Hotel and the Pegasus Corporate Business Center, owned by RJR Investments &
Holdings Inc. The Pegasus Corporate Business Center features approximately 36,000 square feet of meeting and event space, six dining venues including the Aura Sky Lounge with panoramic city views, and an outdoor pool.
$50 Million Development to Create Hyatt Regency Georgetown Guyana by 2028
RJR Investments & Holdings Inc. plans an approximately $50 million development to add a new tower adjoining Atlantic Suites Hotel. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the new tower will connect to the existing building via a pedestrian bridge, creating the Hyatt Regency Georgetown Guyana.
The expanded property will offer 240 guestrooms and suites, a signature restaurant and market, a lobby and rooftop bar, plus additional meeting and
event space. This will introduce a full-service Hyatt Regency experience to Guyana’s capital city.
Official Statements and Market Context
Cristiano Gonçalves, Vice President of Development for South America and the Caribbean at Hyatt, characterized the Guyana debut as “an exciting milestone in our strategic growth across the Latin America and the Caribbean.” He noted the country’s economic expansion and rising international travel demand as key factors prompting Hyatt’s entrance.
Robert Badal, CEO of RJR Investments & Holdings Inc., highlighted Guyana’s extraordinary growth and international attention as ideal conditions to bring the Hyatt brand to the country. He pointed to Pegasus Hotel’s longstanding presence in Georgetown
and said the affiliation will leverage that legacy to showcase Guyana’s hospitality and culture.
Hyatt’s Regional Strategy and Guest Benefits
Hyatt’s addition of Atlantic Suites Hotel supports its expansion in Latin America and the Caribbean, specifically entering an emerging market where it previously had no affiliated properties. Another property, Hyatt Place Georgetown Guyana, with 136 guestrooms, rooftop bar, outdoor pool, and complimentary breakfast, is expected to join Hyatt’s portfolio later in 2026.
Following the 2028 transition, Atlantic Suites Hotel will join the World of Hyatt loyalty program, allowing members to earn and redeem points on stays, dining, and wellbeing experiences.
Location and Travel Convenience
Atlantic Suites Hotel is located in
Georgetown, the capital and commercial hub of Guyana. It provides convenient access to key government offices, the city’s business district, and lies approximately six miles from Eugene F. Correia International Airport, facilitating business and leisure travel to the region.
