United Airlines will launch the first nonstop flight connecting Palm Beach County, Florida, to San Francisco, California, beginning November 7, 2026. The service will operate exclusively on Saturdays, offering direct access to the San Francisco Bay Area and onward connections to the western United States and Pacific Northwest.
Palm Beach Airport Renamed and Code Updated
Palm Beach County International Airport was renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport on July 9, 2026, becoming the first U.S. airport named after a sitting president. Starting August 18, 2026, the airport’s IATA code will change from PBI to DJT in airline reservation systems and boarding passes.
United Airlines Operations and Market Share
United Airlines operates out
of Concourse B at the airport with five daily nonstop flights to hub airports: Chicago O’Hare International, Newark Liberty International, George Bush Intercontinental (Houston), Denver International, and Washington Dulles International. Through June 2026, United carried 588,124 passengers at President Donald J. Trump International Airport, comprising 13.45% of the airport’s total passenger share. This makes United the third-largest carrier there, following JetBlue Airways with 25.76%, Delta Air Lines at 24.71%, and American Airlines holding 19.93%.
Passenger Traffic and Seasonal Route Changes
During the first half of 2026, the airport served 8,719,484 passengers, marking a 1.7% increase compared to the previous period. Multiple airlines have announced the resumption
or launch of various routes at President Donald J. Trump International Airport for fall and winter 2026:
United Airlines will resume flights to Washington Dulles and Houston on September 24, and to Denver on October 25. Allegiant Air will restart services to Grand Rapids on October 1 and Cincinnati on November 19. Avelo Airlines will resume flights to Wilmington, Delaware on October 9. JetBlue Airways will resume Los Angeles service on October 25. Air Canada will restart Toronto flights on October 25 and Montreal flights on December 2. Southwest Airlines will begin Denver service on November 21. Delta Air Lines
will start Los Angeles service on November 21. Breeze Airways will begin flights to Columbus and Atlantic City on December 17. Porter Airlines will resume Toronto service on December 17.
Official Statement on New United Flight
Laura Beebe, director of the Palm Beach County Department of Airports, said, “United Airlines continues to expand travel options for our passengers, and we’re pleased to welcome new nonstop service to San Francisco.” The new United route aims to strengthen direct flight options between Florida and California.
The addition of the weekly nonstop route eliminates the need for layovers on travel between Palm Beach County and San Francisco, reducing total
travel time for passengers.
