SunExpress Launches Almaty-Izmir Direct Flights from July 31, 2026

The Turkish low-cost airline SunExpress will begin operating regular direct flights between Almaty Airport in Kazakhstan and Izmir Airport in Turkey starting July 31, 2026, announced Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport. This marks SunExpress’s entry into Kazakhstan’s air transport market, providing a new direct air connection between the two cities.

Strategic Expansion to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

The Ministry of Transport stated that these new flights are part of efforts to expand Kazakhstan’s air route network. The direct service between Almaty and Izmir aims to enhance trade, economic, business, tourism, and cultural relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
