Marriott International finalized a deal on July 27, 2026, with Misr Italia Properties and People & Places to develop nine hotel properties across Egypt, totaling over 1,500 keys. The agreement was signed at government headquarters in New Alamein City under the auspices of Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
Officials present included Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, and executives from the involved companies. The developments will be located at prominent Egyptian destinations including Ras Al Hekma, Solare Ras El Hekma, Sphinx City, Kai Sokhna Red Sea, and East
Cairo.
Details on Planned Properties
A Ritz-Carlton hotel in Ras Al Hekma will feature 170 rooms alongside 268 Ritz-Carlton branded residences. Solare Ras El Hekma will host an Autograph Collection hotel with 180 rooms plus 250 branded residences. The Hills of One mixed-use development in Sphinx City, West Cairo, will have a Luxury Collection hotel with 180 rooms and 180 residences. Kai Sokhna Red Sea project includes an 80-room Autograph Collection hotel with 172 residences. Garden 8 in East Cairo plans to include a 100-room Autograph Collection hotel.
These projects span beach resorts, urban hotels, and branded residences under Marriott’s luxury and premium banners,
including The Ritz-Carlton, The Luxury Collection, and the Autograph Collection.
Investment and Strategic Aims
The partnership builds on earlier collaborations from 2022 between Marriott and Misr Italia involving Marriott Executive Apartments and Westin Residences. Misr Italia Properties and People & Places are targeting approximately 50 hospitality assets by 2037, backed by investments exceeding EGP 56.7 billion.
The expansion is projected to generate around 6,000 direct and indirect jobs and attract about 373,000 tourists annually. Projects will integrate into larger developments such as Il Bosco in Cairo’s New Administrative Capital and Solare Ras El Hekma on the coast.
