Universal Music Group, in partnership with White Rocks, is developing the UMusic Hotel & Private Residences Austin on a 71-acre site at the edge of Texas Hill Country. The project will offer 150 hotel rooms, 600 private residences, and an outdoor performance venue called White Rocks Amphitheater, preserving over 70 percent of the land as natural green space.

Construction Timeline and Residence Sales

Construction for the development is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with the opening targeted for the first quarter of 2029. Residences are currently on sale, priced between $850 and $1,450 per square foot, depending on location and views.

This marks the first time Universal Music is including private residences in their UMusic Hotel brand, which already operates a hotel in Madrid, Spain.

Amenities and Entertainment Features

The White Rocks Amphitheater is designed as an open-air venue integrating the site’s natural environment. The property will also feature an indoor performance venue in the hotel alongside professional recording and content studios. Additional on-site amenities include a bar, nightclub, comedy club, various dining options, a rooftop pool, fitness center, and a spa and wellness center.

The wellness center will provide traditional services such as massages, facials, and manicures, as well as advanced options like red-light

therapy, peptide therapy, and cryogenic chambers. The amphitheater will at times host physical activity events including yoga and weight training.

Private residences will have exclusive amenities such as private pools, fitness facilities, underground parking, and shared common areas while also granting residents access to hotel cultural amenities.

Sustainability and Community Support

The development incorporates sustainability features including a largely concealed plant supplying hot and cold water and power, microgrid energy technology, and a closed-loop water system aimed at 100 percent water reuse to comply with local city goals. The project follows DarkSky-compliant protocols to reduce light pollution, supporting monthly stargazing events at the amphitheater.

Universal Music and White Rocks have committed resources to the local creative community by dedicating part of ticket sales to an endowment benefiting local artists and nonprofits. They will provide paid opportunities for emerging talent and collaborate with schools and cultural organizations on mentorship initiatives.

Project Vision and Statements

Jordi Solé, president of UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle, described the project as combining performance, wellness, nature, and community into a “single living ecosystem,” reflecting Austin’s creative spirit globally. A project representative said the development creates “a living environment that offers the peace of a private retreat alongside the vibrancy of an international cultural hub.”
