China has introduced its inaugural cruise-to-nowhere service, launching from the Shanghai cruise port in June 2026. This marks a new approach in the country’s cruise offerings by providing journeys that do not include international port calls.
Central to this development is the implementation of a cruise-specific visa-free permit. This permit allows passengers to embark on cruises departing from Shanghai without the need for visas associated with international destinations, streamlining the traveling process under current regulations.
