Typhoon Jangmi led to widespread cancellations of flights operating out of Tokyo’s airports in early June 2026, significantly affecting travelers in the region. The severe weather conditions forced airlines to suspend numerous departures and arrivals amid the storm’s impact.

In addition to the flight disruptions, rail services throughout eastern Japan also experienced interruptions. The typhoon’s effects resulted in suspensions and delays across multiple rail lines, complicating travel plans for many commuters and visitors.

Efforts to restore both air and rail operations have been underway, with services gradually resuming. However, delays and some cancellations remain, prompting travelers to anticipate continued disruptions

in transport throughout eastern Japan while recovery progresses.
