
Carnival Cruise Line has revealed a cybersecurity breach that resulted in the unauthorized access of passengers’ personal data, including passport and driver’s license information. The cruise operator identified that sensitive travel documentation was among the compromised details.
The incident impacted close to six million travelers and was traced to a social engineering attack targeting Carnival’s systems. This form of attack typically involves manipulation tactics to gain access, as confirmed by multiple news reports.
