According to the World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) latest forecast issued in early June 2026, the travel and tourism sector in Central and South America is projected to grow at a rate exceeding the global average by more than four percent this year. This suggests a notable acceleration in the region’s contribution to global tourism GDP relative to other areas worldwide.
Key countries driving this projected expansion include Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Guatemala, Panama, and Ecuador. The growth is supported significantly by higher international visitor spending across these markets, positioning the region for a strong performance within the global tourism
landscape in 2026.
The WTTC projection highlights continued momentum in regional tourism economies, reflecting increased demand and spending patterns among travelers. This forecast offers insights into the evolving dynamics shaping Central and South America’s travel and tourism sector over the course of the year.
