The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has projected that China’s tourism economy is anticipated to double in size over the next decade, reaching an estimated value of $3.5 trillion by 2036. This forecast highlights the substantial expansion expected within the country’s travel and tourism sector.
According to the WTTC, this growth results from rapid development in both inbound and outbound tourism markets in China, positioning the country as a major force within the global tourism industry. The projection emphasizes China’s rising prominence on the international travel stage with expanding economic contributions from its tourism activities.
