Vadodara Bullet Train station is under construction above platform No. 7 of Vadodara Railway Station in Gujarat. The station building will stretch 534 metres and is designed to connect high-speed rail services with the city’s existing Western Railway network and public transportation systems to minimize passenger walking distances.

Three Foot Over Bridges Ensure Multimodal Connectivity

The station will feature three foot over bridges (FOBs) to manage passenger flow and facilitate integration. FOB 1, measuring 534 metres, will link the bullet train station directly with Vadodara Railway Station and the GSRTC central bus depot. To ease transfer burden, travelators are planned for this longest bridge to assist passengers

carrying luggage.

FOB 2 will span 90 metres, connecting the bullet train facility to the Alkapuri side by crossing railway tracks, providing an additional entry and exit route. FOB 3, at 51 metres, will connect the station to its dedicated parking area and plaza. Lifts and escalators are included in the station design to ensure accessibility across all FOBs.

Passenger Amenities and Station Facilities

The station will offer multiple passenger-centric amenities, including comfortable waiting areas, restrooms, and retail outlets inside the building. Design plans incorporate dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones along with exclusive parking spaces separated by vehicle type – cars, buses, and autorickshaws –

to streamline traffic and passenger movement.

Additionally, the station plaza will provide landscaped open spaces with clear wayfinding signage to guide travelers effectively through the integrated transport hub.

Easier Transfers Between High-Speed Rail, Western Railway, and Bus Networks

Integration of the Vadodara Bullet Train station with existing rail and bus services will allow passengers to shift between bullet train operations, Western Railway trains, and GSRTC intercity buses with minimal walking effort. The travelators on FOB 1 and the presence of lifts and escalators will further ease transfers, especially for those carrying luggage or with reduced mobility.

According to the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the station’s strategic location and

design will facilitate efficient interchanges across different transport modes, reinforcing Vadodara’s role as a significant transit point in the high-speed rail corridor.
