Visitor arrivals to the U.S. declined across all major regions in August 2026. The steepest drops occurred in arrivals from Africa, which decreased by 25.5%, Central America with a 20.6% decline, and Western Europe, down 14.8%. Inbound tourism numbers for the World Cup hosted in the U.S. also fell short of expectations during the summer months.
