United Airlines will introduce three new international destinations from Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport during the winter of 2026, expanding its international network. The launches include flights to Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela, according to the Houston Airport System.
New International Routes from Houston Bush
In October 2026, United will begin service to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital of Chiapas, Mexico. This will be the only nonstop international flight connection United offers to that city. Flights to Cartagena, Colombia, are scheduled to start in December 2026. Service between Houston and Caracas, Venezuela, will resume in January 2027, marking United’s return to the Venezuelan market after several years. The Caracas
route was initially planned for August 2026 but was postponed due to significant earthquake damage at Simón Bolívar International Airport.
Terminal B North Concourse and Future Plans
United has opened the new Terminal B North Concourse at Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport, which spans 765,000 square feet and features 22 gates. The terminal includes a 54,000-square-foot United Club lounge, currently the largest airline lounge in the Americas. Additionally, United intends to resume flights between Houston and Chihuahua, Mexico, in spring 2027, though a definitive start date has not been announced.
