Typhoon Jangmi brought significant travel interruptions across eastern Japan, especially affecting air transport in Tokyo. Numerous flights in and out of Tokyo airports were cancelled amid the storm’s passage. Several major airlines, including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Japan Airlines, and ANA, temporarily halted flights on the Hanoi-Tokyo routes at Haneda and Narita airports.

Rail services across the eastern regions of Japan also faced disruptions due to the typhoon. Authorities began efforts to restore normal operations, with rail and flight services showing signs of gradual recovery on June 3, 2026. Travelers in the affected areas experienced interruptions to both air and

train schedules over the course of the storm and the immediate aftermath.
