Storm Jangmi has significantly affected air travel in Japan during early June 2026, resulting in the cancellation of approximately 1,432 flights and delays affecting an additional 834 departures and arrivals. The severe weather caused widespread disruption to flight operations, particularly impacting major transport hubs.
These disruptions have been primarily concentrated at airports serving Tokyo and Osaka. Two of Japan’s principal carriers, Japan Airlines and ANA, have been responsible for the majority of cancellations and delayed flights, making operational adjustments in response to the storm’s impact.
