The platform displays live network status including data from major operators such as France’s SNCF. At the time of reporting, SNCF operated 601 trains, with 80 delayed by 15 minutes or more and 22 cancelled. TrainTracker24 also integrates data for Eurostar and Italy’s Frecciarossa high-speed service.
Platform Features and User Interaction
Users can interactively explore the map with zoom and rotation functions and apply filters by train operator, infrastructure status,
or station condition. The map highlights stations without service, high-speed lines, and stations operational but closed to the public. Widgets display live rankings for the most delayed trains and the most disrupted stations. Train number searches provide scheduled runs, past journeys, and live train tracking. Additional search functions cover departures, arrivals, punctuality, and facilities at stations across France, Germany, Spain, and Belgium. A section dedicated to rail operators details their routes and performance metrics. Basic platform features are free, while paid services include personalized journey mapping, sorting by delay, live updates on interrupted services, and enriched map details.

TrainTracker24 aggregates
information from open data released by rail operators, regional authorities, and infrastructure managers. This data encompasses timetables, real-time updates, and disruption alerts. The platform announced plans to extend its coverage further into Europe beyond the initial countries.
Industry Context and Founder Statement
The new platform joins others such as TrainTracker.live, which offers free live tracking of nearly 11,000 trains across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania. TrainsTracking covers 76 countries with live data and fare comparisons, while SignalBox provides live mapping of UK rail networks. Elric Battello, TrainTracker24 founder, explained the challenge in train tracking compared to flights and shipping: “When you’re flying, or waiting
for someone at the airport, it’s easy to open Flightradar24 to track the flight live on a map; the same goes for shipping. With trains, it’s different. You’ll often see a display at the station or receive a notification in the event of a delay. But you don’t really know what’s going on.” This platform aims to fill that information gap for train travelers.
