Severe thunderstorms on June 29, 2026, led to significant operational disruption at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports. More than 900 flights were affected, resulting in widespread cancellations and delays, which left about 40,000 passengers stranded across the two hubs.

The persistent storm conditions created considerable challenges for airport operations throughout the day.
