ZIPAIR is operating four round-trip nonstop charter flights between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport (NRT) scheduled for February and March 2027. This service creates the first direct flight route between Florida and the Asia-Pacific region focusing on Disney Parks travelers.
Flight Schedule and Duration Details
The charter flights will depart from Narita in the morning, arriving in Orlando the same morning local time, while return flights from Orlando will leave in the morning and arrive the following afternoon in Narita. ZIPAIR estimates the nonstop journey will take approximately 14 hours, reducing travel time compared to traditional connecting routes which can exceed
18 hours.
Background on Traditional Travel Routes
Until these charter flights began, passengers traveling between Walt Disney World in Florida and Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan required at least one connecting flight. Orlando is home to Walt Disney World Resort, while Tokyo Disney Resort includes Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. ZIPAIR introduced the nonstop flights in 2026 to simplify travel between these major Disney destinations.
Travel Packages and Ticket Availability
Japanese travel agencies H.I.S., JTB, and Jalpak offer vacation packages combining these charter flights with Walt Disney World theme park tickets, Disney-owned hotel accommodations, and transfer services. Tickets for the standalone airline service are expected to be available on ZIPAIR’s
website starting in late November 2026, although exact departure times and fares have not been disclosed.
Market Reception and Official Statements
Lance Lyttle, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, said, “The excitement surrounding ZIPAIR’s first flights exceeded expectations and sent a clear message that travelers want this connection.” The inaugural ZIPAIR charter flight arrived in Orlando on February 23, 2026. Additional charter flights operated in March and August 2026, demonstrating strong traveler demand for this route.
Charter Flight Considerations and Industry Outlook
Because the service operates as a series of charter flights with limited dates, travelers are advised to plan carefully and avoid booking nonrefundable hotel or park
tickets until flights are confirmed. The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and ZIPAIR have expressed hopes to eventually transition these charters into regular scheduled passenger flights connecting Orlando and Tokyo Narita.
Significance of the Direct Orlando-Narita Route
ZIPAIR’s nonstop flights represent the first passenger air service directly linking Florida and the Asia-Pacific region, offering a rare route that benefits visitors planning trips to Walt Disney World Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort. This connection reduces complex multi-leg itineraries, supporting both U.S. travelers visiting Japan’s Disney Parks and Japanese visitors coming to Central Florida’s theme parks.
