Sunday PropTech, the hospitality investment division of Indian group Prism, announced the acquisition of Fletcher Hotels, the largest hotel chain in the Netherlands, on October 26, 2026. Fletcher’s portfolio consists of 170 hotels, including 130 owned and operated properties and 40 partner hotels across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

Fletcher Hotels’ Expansion History and Ownership

Founded in 1997, Fletcher Hotels grew from operating 73 hotels in 2016 to 103 by 2021. Since 2016, the company pursued a buy-and-build strategy, growing through about 60 acquisitions and expanding internationally beyond the Netherlands into Belgium and Germany. Egeria, an independent investment firm, acquired a majority stake in Fletcher Hotels

in 2021 and, alongside Fletcher management, was the previous owner.

Sunday PropTech’s Broader European Strategy

Sunday PropTech’s purchase of Fletcher Hotels followed its acquisition of a stake in Amsterdam-based Sircle Collection within two months. Prism, Sunday PropTech’s parent company, owns brands including Oyo, Motel 6, Studio 6, and Sunday Hotels. Prism changed its name from Oravel Stays in September 2025 and is accelerating European expansion ahead of a planned IPO valued near $355 million, recently nearly halved.

Earlier in 2026, Prism opened three hotels in Germany, including one under its Belvilla vacation rental brand, and launched its first property in Belgium, strengthening its multi-country footprint.

Deal Advisory and Financial Details

Financial terms of the Fletcher Hotels acquisition were undisclosed. Rothschild & Co. acted as advisor on the transaction.

Egeria’s Investments and Business Approach

Mark Wetzels, senior partner at Egeria, said, “During this period, we have invested significantly in the organisation, real estate portfolio and technology platform, all with the aim of continuously enhancing the guest experience.” Egeria’s ownership involved investments in operations, the property base, and technology to improve the overall guest experience.

Dutch Hotel Market Context

Hotel investment volume in the Netherlands declined sharply in 2026 amid pricing uncertainty. Q3 recorded transactions worth €224 million, down from €625 million a year earlier. The first half of 2026 saw

only six deals totaling about €56 million, marking an 86% decrease year-over-year. International investors are cautious about Dutch hotels due to more attractive returns and tax conditions in other European markets.
