The Sri Lankan government has introduced a new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) scheme that offers a free 30-day visa for tourists from 40 countries. This initiative includes countries such as India, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia among those eligible to receive the complimentary ETA.
Designed to simplify the entry process, the free 30-day ETA aims to encourage more international visitors by easing visa requirements. The government’s announcement underscores its intention to support tourism recovery efforts and increase the number of global arrivals to Sri Lanka.
