Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism has been named the Strategic Partner for the first WTM Spotlight Riyadh event, scheduled for 8 to 10 September 2026 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center (RFECC).
WTM Spotlight Riyadh to Connect Global Tourism Markets
The three-day event aims to connect international tourism businesses with Saudi Arabia and provide Saudi companies access to global travel markets. It is set to convene tourism authorities, destinations, hospitality providers, airlines, travel technology companies, investors, buyers, and industry leaders to explore business opportunities within the Kingdom’s expanding tourism sector.
The partnership supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which targets tourism as a strategic sector
for economic diversification, aiming for the industry to contribute 10% of GDP and welcome 150 million domestic and international visitors annually by 2030.
Statements from RX Regional Director on Partnership
Danielle Curtis, Regional Portfolio Director for the UAE at RX, emphasized the significance of the collaboration. She said the partnership with the Ministry of Tourism marks a defining moment for the inaugural event and reflects Saudi Arabia’s ambition to influence the future of global tourism.
Curtis stated, “WTM Spotlight Riyadh has been designed to create meaningful business connections, encourage the exchange of ideas and provide international travel professionals with direct access to one of the world’s most
exciting tourism markets.”
Tourism Sector Growth Under Saudi Vision 2030
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism recently reported sustained increases in visitor numbers and tourism spending. The sector is a key pillar in the country’s economic diversification under Vision 2030.
The event’s creation aligns with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to expand its role as a global tourism destination and major outbound travel market.
Event’s Role in Promoting Investment and Collaboration
WTM Spotlight Riyadh is designed as a B2B2C platform bridging the global travel ecosystem with Saudi Arabia’s tourism ambitions. The event will facilitate investment, support sustainable tourism development, and build international partnerships.
