Royal Caribbean has announced a relocation of the Alaska debarkation port for its ship Ovation of the Seas, moving from Seward to Whittier. This adjustment affects the cruises scheduled for March 2027 and alters the usual disembarkation procedures for passengers.
The decision to change the disembarkation port was prompted by ongoing construction delays at the Seward cruise terminal. These delays have necessitated the operational shift to Whittier in order to maintain the smooth running of the Alaska cruise itinerary for the affected sailings.
Passenger Preparations for Port Change
Travelers booked on the March 2027 Ovation of the Seas Alaska cruises should prepare for debarkation through
Whittier port instead of Seward. This change will require adjustments in ground transportation plans, including timing and logistics, as Whittier’s location and access differ from Seward. Passengers are advised to review their travel arrangements accordingly to accommodate this port relocation.
