Papua New Guinea Wins Best Booth Award at Travel Madness Expo 2026

Travel Madness Expo 2026 Launches in Pasay with Focus on Regional Recovery

Papua New Guinea received the Best Booth award in the National Tourism Organisation category at the 2026 Travel Madness Expo held from July 10 to 12 in Manila, Philippines. The event featured over 170 participants, including tourism organisations, airlines, hotels, resorts, and travel agencies from the Philippines and across Asia.

Air Niugini and PNGTPA Collaboration

Air Niugini and the Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority (PNGTPA) jointly organised the country’s participation. Air Niugini CEO Alan Milne noted the award demonstrates the strength of cooperation between the airline, PNGTPA, and industry partners in showcasing Papua New Guinea as a vibrant and welcoming destination.

Manager for Asia, Joshua Koh, coordinated the airline’s involvement alongside PNGTPA and tourism operators, emphasizing the unexpected yet meaningful recognition.

Showcase of Papua New Guinea’s Tourism

The Papua New Guinea stand highlighted the nation’s unique tourism experiences, cultural heritage, and diverse visitor attractions. The award recognised the collective effort to promote the country’s image and foster confidence among regional travel partners and potential visitors.

Upcoming Tourism Promotion Plans

Following the Manila expo, Air Niugini and PNGTPA plan to continue their promotional campaign by participating at the NATAS Travel Fair in Singapore from August 21 to 23, 2026, and the Holiday and Travel Expo in Hong Kong from September 25 to

27, 2026.

Alan Milne stated, “This recognition is a wonderful achievement for Papua New Guinea as it demonstrates what can be accomplished when the national airline, PNGTPA and tourism operators work together to showcase our country as a vibrant, welcoming and trustworthy destination.”
