Norwegian Cruise Line has opened bookings for more than 450 voyages across its fleet of 20 ships, including new summer 2028 sailings departing from Galveston, Texas. The Miami-based cruise operator is offering a 50% discount on bookings as part of its End of Summer promotion, which ends August 18, 2026, with some itineraries also eligible for up to $750 in onboard credit.
Ships and Itineraries Based in Galveston
Among the vessels sailing from Galveston, the Norwegian Prima will operate seven-day Western Caribbean cruises in summer 2028. The Prima, with a passenger capacity nearing 3,200, will call at Norwegian’s private island resort Harvest Caye in Belize. The
ship initially debuted in Galveston in 2023 and returned for additional sailings in early 2025.
Norwegian Viva is slated to resume Galveston operations on October 31, offering seven-day voyages to Cozumel, Mexico; Roatán, Honduras; and Harvest Caye. The Viva’s season from Galveston concludes with its last voyage beginning April 3. Norwegian Escape will start sailing from Galveston the following November. Norwegian shares Terminal 16 at Port of Galveston with MSC Cruises, where the Port signed a 10-year lease with Norwegian in October 2024, including multiple options to renew.

Carnival Cruise Line’s cancellation of several summer and fall 2027 cruises aboard
its Galveston-based ship Jubilee has impacted cruise availability in the region. This has likely influenced Norwegian’s announcement of new 2028 sailings from Galveston, allowing it to expand its Caribbean offerings.
In a July 2026 report, Bank of Montreal Capital Markets assigned Norwegian a “market perform” rating with a $21 share price target. The analysts ranked Norwegian fourth in investor appeal behind Viking, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival. They noted that Norwegian faces challenges due to lagging results compared to peers, activist investor involvement, and intense competition. The report highlighted Norwegian’s position in a narrower premium niche, which may limit growth potential
despite favorable industry trends.
The BMO analysts stated, “Norwegian raises the most questions in the cruise space, considering results are lagging peers, activist involvement, and a tough backdrop against well-oiled competitors.” They added, “We see the appeal of a premium cruise line, slotting in between RCL and VIK, and the industry tailwinds are favorable, but the numerous steps to full recovery are keeping us on the sidelines for now.”
