The elevated alignment runs from Shilphata in Thane district to Zaroli near the Maharashtra-Gujarat border, a vital construction segment for connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Development of Elevated Stations in Maharashtra
Three elevated stations are under construction in Maharashtra: Thane, Virar, and Boisar. The Thane station features a concourse approximately 12 meters above ground level, incorporating design elements aimed at protecting adjacent mangrove ecosystems. Virar and Boisar stations are engineered to serve satellite towns, facilitating regional access to the high-speed rail without requiring entry into central Mumbai.
Construction Logistics and Deployment
National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) utilizes nine operational casting yards to support the infrastructure build. The project employs seven full-span launching gantries alongside eight segmental launching gantries to sustain the construction tempo. These resources are concentrated on the critical corridor from Shilphata
to Zaroli.
