Spanish hotel groups Meliá Hotels International and Iberostar have announced their decision to leave the Cuban hospitality market. This move involves closing several hotel properties operated in Cuba as both companies retreat from the island.
These withdrawals come amid intensifying US sanctions that have targeted foreign businesses involved in Cuba’s tourism sector. The sanctions have created significant challenges for international hotel chains, prompting the exits of these prominent Spanish firms from the Cuban market.
