More than 40 large hotel properties are planned in and around Jaipur, with about 20 along the Jaipur-Delhi highway hospitality corridor. Most of these hotels are expected to be operational within about five years, while at least five are expected to start operations within one year, according to Surendra Singh Shahpura, president of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR).
The pipeline includes international hotel brands such as Grand Hyatt, Ozone Villas, Radisson Blu, JW Marriott, Sofitel Legend, and Waldorf Astoria. Each large hotel project entails investments exceeding Rs 300 crore, indicating large-scale capital investments in Jaipur’s hospitality
sector.
The surge in development is driven by the rising destination wedding business in Jaipur. Hotels are being designed with banquet facilities, lawns, and event infrastructure to capitalize on higher wedding revenues compared to regular business travel. This expansion will substantially increase Jaipur’s branded room inventory and intensify competition among hotel operators.
Ranvijay Singh, a leading member of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism Rajasthan, stated that there is hardly any other industry investing such capital in individual projects and these hotels will be key to creating thousands of employment opportunities. He also noted that similar new project developments are
happening in Pushkar, Udaipur, and Jodhpur.
To further support this expansion, the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) is auctioning seven large plots for potential hotel projects, potentially increasing the total number of new properties in and around Jaipur.
