Total tourist arrivals to Cyprus in June 2026 reached 489,965, a decrease of 1.7% from 498,527 in June 2025, according to the Cyprus Statistical Service (CySTAT). For the first half of 2026, arrivals totaled 1,656,015, down 10.1% from 1,843,013 in the same period in 2025. Compared to 2024, June arrivals increased by 1.6% from 482,261, and arrivals in the first half of 2026 rose 1.65% over 1,652,475 recorded in January to June 2024.
Israeli Tourist Arrivals Surge in June
Israeli visitor arrivals in June 2026 more than doubled to 80,343 compared to 30,246 in June 2025, a 165.7% increase. The May 2026 figure was 53,649, showing
a strong month-on-month rise. Israeli tourist arrivals in the first half of 2026 were 192,037, a decline of 8.6% compared to 210,220 in the same period of 2025, but close to the level recorded in 2024. This dynamic return of Israeli tourists in June helped stabilize overall tourism numbers amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
Trends in Other Key Markets
The United Kingdom remained Cyprus’s largest tourism market with 539,415 arrivals in the first half of 2026, down 13.8% from 626,004 in 2025. Poland was the third main market, growing by 4.8% to 165,731 arrivals from 158,208. Germany ranked fourth with 106,537 arrivals, a
6.9% decrease from 114,485 in 2025. Greece, the fifth main market, had 78,811 arrivals, down 7.5% from 85,224. Sweden recorded 64,391 arrivals, a fall of about 3% from 66,394 in 2025. Romania, Austria, Hungary, and France completed the top ten markets for Cyprus in the first half of 2026, with arrivals of 35,418, 28,519, 23,494, and 22,970 respectively.
Official Statement on Tourism Stability
Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis said June arrivals “confirm that our country’s tourism has returned to a stable trajectory, as the overall performance of the month is considered satisfactory under the circumstances.” He noted the significant role the rise in Israeli
tourist arrivals played in containing losses caused by the Middle East situation affecting tourism in the first half of the year.
