IndiGo announces the launch of daily nonstop flights between Mumbai, India, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, commencing November 20, 2026. The inbound flight departs Mumbai at 2:20 am, arriving in Dar es Salaam at 6:05 am, while the return flight leaves Dar es Salaam at 7:05 am, touching down in Mumbai at 3:55 pm. Operations will be subject to regulatory approvals.

India-Tanzania Trade and Route Significance

The introduction of this route enhances IndiGo’s international footprint and strengthens direct air connectivity between India and East Africa. India ranks among Tanzania’s largest trading partners, with growing economic and cultural exchanges. Direct flights are expected to facilitate increased

business travel, trade, investment, tourism, and educational interaction between the two countries.

Aloke Singh, IndiGo’s chief strategy officer, emphasized that launching daily flights between Mumbai and Dar es Salaam aligns with the airline’s strategy to deepen ties with rapidly expanding global markets. Tanzania serves as a key economic partner and a gateway into East Africa. IndiGo currently maintains direct flights to Nairobi, Mauritius, and Seychelles, and the addition of Dar es Salaam expands its reach across the African continent.
