The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has reported a decline in global air travel demand for April 2026. According to its latest data, the overall volume of air passengers fell by 3.4% compared to previous periods.

Impact of the Middle East Conflict on Air Travel

This decrease in demand has been linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The situation in the region has caused several disruptions, including flight cancellations and changes to air routes, which have affected passenger traffic worldwide during the month. IATA’s report highlights that these operational disturbances are the main factors behind the drop in global passenger numbers for April.
