Hyatt’s Under Canvas brand will launch its first New Mexico location in Santa Fe in April 2027, introducing upscale glamping with new features for the brand. This Santa Fe site will be the first Under Canvas property to offer saunas and temperature-controlled, hard-sided cabins planned for later addition. Cash rates currently start at $224 per night, but World of Hyatt award nights are not available for booking at this location.
Hilton Opens Canopy by Hilton Deer Valley Hotel in Utah
Hilton has opened Canopy by Hilton Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, targeting budget-conscious lifestyle travelers. The hotel is located steps from the Jordanelle Express Gondola and minutes from Deer
Valley East Village, according to Hilton. It contains 180 rooms, four bars and restaurants, a sauna, steam room, and fitness center. Off-season cash rates begin at $181 per night, rising to $600 during ski season. Hilton Honors members can redeem points starting at 58,000 per night off-season and 85,000 points per night in ski season.
Wyndham Rewards Adjusts Point Redemption Tiers
Wyndham Rewards implemented changes to its award chart effective September 15, 2026, shifting to four award tiers. The lowest tier decreased from 7,500 to 5,000 points per night. A new highest tier at 45,000 points per night was introduced for a select number of “most
elevated hotels,” according to a Wyndham Rewards spokesperson.
Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa to Undergo Renovation and Rebrand
The Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa in Dana Point, California, will experience a multi-million dollar renovation and reopen as The Ocean Cliffs at Dana Point, a JW Marriott Resort. The property’s 371 rooms will be refreshed alongside a new pool, expanded lawn, enhanced meeting spaces, a 6,000-square-foot ballroom, and a new signature restaurant. Renovations will occur “in stages to limit any disruption and keep the guest experience as seamless as possible,” per the hotel website, and the resort will remain open throughout this process.
IHG Opens Crowne Plaza Flagship Hotel in New York City
IHG has opened a new Crowne Plaza
flagship property in Times Square, New York City, housed in a building originally built for the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The 685-room hotel features the Fifty-First Street Social bar and restaurant offering all-day dining. It also includes “Manhattan Level” rooms, described by IHG as “an elevated stay experience featuring expansive suites and thoughtfully designed guestrooms with sweeping skyline views.” Cash rates start at $194 per night, with IHG One Rewards members able to book stays from 30,000 points per night.
