Hard Rock Hotel Malta officially opened on September 2, 2026, in St. George’s Bay, marking Hard Rock International’s first hotel on the island. The opening ceremony featured a guitar smash event celebrating the arrival of the new five-star property.

Hotel Features Include 397 Rooms, 11 Pools, and Extensive Wellness Facilities

The luxury hotel offers 397 guest rooms and encompasses 11 swimming pools. It houses more than 10 dining, bar, lounge, and club venues, including a 1,400 square meter Hard Rock Cafe St. Julian’s Malta with seating for 222 guests both indoors and outdoors. The property also contains a 466 square meter ballroom and a 3,800 square meter spa and wellness center,

one of Malta’s largest. The wellness amenities include the world’s largest Body Rock® workout facility and Rock Om®, an in-room personalized yoga experience.

Grand Opening Event Draws Prominent Entertainers and International Guests

The launch event included live performances by Malta’s Eurovision 2026 Representative Aiden, leading female artist Ira Losco, singer Shaun Farrugia, and local DJ J Joy. An artistic swimming show took place in the hotel’s guitar-shaped pool. International attendees included Leomie Anderson, Corinna Brown, Gizzi Erskine, and Arielle Free among several other guests and Hard Rock executives.

€350 Million Investment Creates Hundreds of Jobs in Malta’s Tourism Sector

The hotel opening reflects a €350 million direct investment intended to boost Malta’s tourism economy. This development generated several hundred new

jobs covering a variety of specialized positions such as culinary experts, wellness therapists, and hospitality professionals. According to Hard Rock International, this represents a significant economic milestone for the island.

Hard Rock Cafe and Location Details

Hard Rock Cafe St. Julian’s Malta operates within the hotel as a 1,400 square meter venue featuring the signature Rock Shop® which offers exclusive Malta-themed merchandise. The hotel is located 20 minutes from Malta International Airport and near landmarks including the UNESCO World Heritage Site Valletta, Mosta Rotunda, and Rabat Catacombs.
