Hard Rock Hotel Malta officially opened at St. George’s Bay, Malta, marked by a guitar smash ceremony. This is Hard Rock International’s first hotel on the island and a five-star property aiming to transform the area through its music-led hospitality concept.
The hotel comprises 397 rooms, 11 swimming pools, more than 10 venues including restaurants, bars, lounges and clubs, a 3,800 square meter spa, wellness and fitness area, and a 466 square meter ballroom. Hard Rock Cafe St. Julian’s Malta is located within the hotel, covering 1,400 square meters with seating for 222 guests indoors and outdoors.
The grand opening
event featured Hard Rock executives, partners, and international guests including Leomie Anderson, Corinna Brown, Gizzi Erskine, and Arielle Free. Maltese performers included Aiden, Malta’s Eurovision 2026 Representative, top-selling female artist Ira Losco, and singer Shaun Farrugia. The event closed with an artistic swimming performance in the guitar-shaped pool followed by music from local DJ J Joy.
The development is a €350 million direct investment in Malta’s tourism sector by db Group, a leading Maltese hospitality and property developer. This project created several hundred new jobs across hospitality, culinary, wellness and entertainment sectors, and is part of db Group’s wider multi-use
beachside development that includes ORA luxury residences and St George’s Mall.

€350 million investment and the hundreds of new jobs created, calling the event a celebration of Malta’s culture alongside Hard Rock’s unique music and hospitality experience.
The hotel features branded wellness amenities including Rock Spa®, the world’s largest Body Rock® workout facility, and Rock Om®, a bespoke in-room yoga experience. Hard Rock Cafe Malta offers live music, themed nights, exclusive Malta merchandise, and authentic music memorabilia from Hard Rock’s global collection of more than 89,000 pieces.
