Brazilian carrier GOL Linhas Aéreas launched nonstop service between Rio de Janeiro and New York-JFK on July 1, 2026. The airline operates this route three times per week using Airbus A330 aircraft, with outbound flights departing Rio de Janeiro on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and return flights from New York on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
GOL’s U.S. Operations and South America Focus
In addition to the new New York-JFK route, GOL currently serves Miami and Orlando airports in the United States. Despite this expansion into North American markets, the majority of GOL’s route network remains concentrated throughout South America.
Route Announcement and Future Expansion Plans
GOL first announced the Rio de Janeiro–New York-JFK
nonstop flights in March 2026. This route is the airline’s inaugural long-haul international connection. The carrier plans to broaden its long-haul service portfolio, including transatlantic flights, as it receives additional Airbus A330 aircraft deliveries.
